Directed by award-winning filmmaker Samuel Bayer, this moving black-and-white short highlights the plight of the people whose lives have been devastated by the Russian invasion and shows the work of Community Organised Relief Effort, the non-profit organisation founded by Ann Lee and Sean Penn, to support those fleeing the conflict.
The camera takes us through shelters for refugee families, food kitchens and warehouses where CORE staff are putting together parcels of lifesaving food, blankets and medicine to be sent across Poland’s border to Ukraine.
“We tell ourselves we’re no match for war, a drop in the ocean,” says actor Leila George, who narrates 2 Minutes to Midnight. “But every single one of your pennies is someone’s entire life.”
