Swedish, London-based directing duo BABYBABY Josefin Malmén and David Strindberg have joined CANADA's UK and US director rosters.

Equal parts meticulous craftspeople and fabulously odd, BABYBABY have built a distinctive world where razor-sharp filmmaking collides with brilliantly unhinged ideas. Their films take the absurd completely seriously, creating bold, character-led stories that feel as insightful as they are unexpected.

Part of a new wave of Scandinavian creatives redefining contemporary comedy, BABYBABY bring an infectious energy to every project. Fiercely collaborative, relentlessly hardworking and driven by technique as much as instinct, they obsess over every detail, always searching for the smartest, strangest way to tell a story.

Their acclaimed short film Flex screened internationally at Sundance and SXSW, cementing their reputation as exciting new voices in filmmaking. On the commercial side, they've already collaborated with brands including Netflix, Adidas, H&M and LEGO, bringing the same bold imagination and precision to every brief. Their campaign for Estrid is a perfect example of what they do best: visually striking, brilliantly observed, effortlessly funny and unmistakably BABYBABY.

"We’ve been fans of Josefin and David’s work for a while and are equally big fans of them as people", said Marta Bobić, Managing Director at CANADA London. "They are impressive filmmakers and brilliant writers: clever, funny and wonderfully weird with a serious approach to craft. It's rare to find their blend of skilled storytelling and fresh perspective, and we couldn't be more excited to welcome them to our London and LA rosters."

Beyond commercials, BABYBABY are currently developing longer-format projects that sit in their signature tonal space: somewhere between controlled chaos and precise stupidity.
