This heartfelt and incredibly human campaign for the British Heart Foundation, directed by Molly Burdett through Spindle, focusses on the true meaning of the holidays and the value of time spent with loved ones.
Drawing on the real experiences of people living with heart conditions, The Gift That Keeps On Living tells the story of a young couple going through the typical motions of Christmas day, framed within a playful narration from the wife, who explains all of the mishaps that weren’t supposed to happen that day.
The story takes an emotional turn as we realise none of these things were supposed to happen, not because they weren’t part of the Christmas day plan, but because the husband wasn’t supposed to be here. The camera pans to a moving scene of the couple cuddling up on the sofa, in which a heart surgery scar on his chest is revealed.
By telling the story from the perspective of the survivor's partner, the creative shows the impact that living with heart conditions can have on our loved ones too, and ultimately the hope and life that a donation to the BHF can bring.
