Sukhjhinder Singh has driven 1 million km without having an accident; for a man who endures a gruelling 24-hour on-duty schedule with only a couple of hours kip in the back of his truck each shift that is pretty impressive.
In Eyes On The Road, sensitively directed by Nixon Freire out of Hanzo Films, Singh outlines the realities of truck-driving life, revealing how he misses his family back in India. He gets a respite from work, however, when Bridgestone arranges for him to take a hot-air balloon trip that affords him an elevated view of the long roads he travels.
The online film is part of a social media and digital campaign that kicks off a three-week event in which truck drivers can take part in free, potentially life-saving health checkups at several strategically positioned truck stops in the UAE.
