Bolivar, the laundry care brand, with its Baby & Kids range and together with VML Peru, has launched its new campaign: Sound Names. This initiative seeks to make tangible the brand's commitment to providing comprehensive care to babies, even before they are born.

The idea arose as a response to a trend in Peru, where many parents choose to name their children after superheroes or characters taken from science fiction, comic books, movies, etc. Although this practice may seem fun and harmless, studies indicate that these unconventional names can harm the construction of children's personalities in the future, affecting their self-esteem and making them vulnerable to bullying later in life.

The campaign consists in turning name options into sounds, whereby each of the letters of the names are converted into a musical note. Each melody is designed to be easily recognisable to babies, who can begin to distinguish pleasant sounds from week 29 of gestation. We have name requests in queue which will soon be created and, to suggest a melody, people should send a message to Bolívar’s fan page inbox.

Tin Sánchez, CCO of VML Lima, stated that they “wanted to raise awareness by proving the importance of name choice, names being one of the first influential factors in the construction of people’s self-esteem and confidence.”

In addition to being a project that helps parents choose names, Sound Names is also an excellent tool to encourage bonding between parents and their children before birth. Parents can play the playlist for their babies in the womb and observe their reactions to the different tunes.

Sound Names is just one of the many ways Bolivar Baby & Kids is committed to caring for and protecting children from the very first day of life. With products specially formulated for the delicate skin of babies, and now with creative initiatives like this one, the brand continues to demonstrate its dedication to improving the lives of children and their families.

Claudia Cornejo, Home Care Platform Director at Alicorp, claimed: Sound Names allows parents to understand that name choice is important for self-confidence because it can influence how we perceive ourselves and how others see us. A name we identify with can increase self-confidence, while a name we don't like or identify with can have the opposite effect.
