Ads have come a long way from the blue-water-is-period-blood campaigns of old.
Following their taboo-breaking, award-winning #BloodNormal and Viva La Vulva spots from 2017/18, Bodyform & Libresse have created their boldest campaign to date, #wombstories, confronting the damaging etiquette of what people who menstruate should, and shouldn’t, feel about their bodies.
Using deliciously surreal animation to bring life to regular experiences for many - from the 'burning down apartment' of a peri-menopausal women, a monster ripping at an endometriosis sufferer’s uterus, a woman’s ‘floodgate’ moment during her period and an unexpected sneeze, to the woman who has chosen not to have children and the often-turbulent journey of trying to conceive - the ad's unflinching honesty and breathtaking pace provide it with powerful impact.
Created by AMV BBDO and made real by Golden Globe winning and Emmy-nominated director, writer and producer Nisha Ganatra, with a predominantly female crew and an all-women team of animators and illustrators, this heartfelt imagined life of wombs easily stands alongside it's genre-breaking predecessors.
