With Sweet Caroline being more or less ubiquitous at sports venues around the world, and award-baiting movie Song Sung Blue leaning into the fandom, it seems that Neil Diamond is having something of a late-career canonisation.
And so it continues to this year's Super Bowl, where Hellmann’s is unveiling Meal Diamond (a prosthetic-laden Andy Samberg) to apply everyone's favourite mayo to a diner-full of dinner.
Created by VML and directed by MJZ's Tom Kuntz, the film also features a surprise cameo from "proud mayo superfan" [a line from the press release so good we had to include it] Elle Fanning as well as one of the funniest final seconds of an ad we've seen in ages.
