Notwithstanding the slightly…ahem... wooden performances by the two leads, this charming puppet animation directed by Guilherme Petry, conveys the deep affection between a couple who’ve spent too much time hanging around the house together.
Produced by Sentimental Filme, the beautifully crafted promo tells the tale of a couple who’ve grown used to ignoring each other, but reignite their amour when their failing support lines force them to reappraise their feelings.
Ultimately, along with new strings, love lifts them up where they belong in this sweet ode to the healing power of touch and intimacy. The song title translates as 'kindness, made by hand'.
The director says the story was partly inspired by the impact of lockdown on intimacy: “We collectively went through a long period of isolation in which being close to those you love was risky and any physical contact and affection was reckless.”
He also goes on to reveal the love behind the making of the video: “Everything you see on the screen is the result of meticulous craftsmanship...From the puppets to the scenery, everything in the project was conceived and executed with great affection and care to tell a story that, in a simple, poetic way, speaks of love and the importance of being connected and present in the lives of those we love. “
