With the tagline ‘An extraordinary job. Done by someone like you’, the ad reveals the special skills required for the demanding – yet rewarding – careers in the prison service.
Created by House 337 and directed by Greg Hackett through Spindle, the spot offers an honest glimpse into life on the inside and challenges preconceptions about the roles, which require the skills of a peacekeeper, counsellor, teacher and teammate all rolled into one person.
The spot is part of a wider, ongoing HM Prison and Probation Service transformation that's working towards delivering modern prisons that rehabilitate offenders and reduce reoffending.
Look out for shots upcoming Q&A with the director about the complexities of delivering an authentic portrayal of life behind bars.
