Amazon's campaign for 2023 is a sweet tale of past memories and present adventure as two friends are coaxed by a third - with the help of Amazon, of course - to relive their youth.

Set to an emotive, orchestral arrangement of one of John Lennon’s most personal songs, In My Life, overseen by sound branding agency DLMDD, the 60-second spot sees three elderly friend watching children slide down a snowy hill on sledges, each looking wistfully at the carefree abandon in front of them.

This gives one of the group an idea and, one swift Amazon order later, and the trio are throwing caution to the wind - and themselves down a hill - as the impressed children look on.

The spot, called Joyride, was directed by Wayne McClammy though Hungry Man and created by Amazon in-house. “The stories we tell serve as a reminder that, sometimes, the joy you receive from doing something special for those you love can uplift us all at this time of year,” said Jo Shoesmith, Amazon’s Vice-President and Global CCO.
