This hypnotic, atmospheric piece for Rone is an animated look at the cosmos and the scope of the earth, speeding through the Jurassic toward the city and the speculative future.

Esperanza has a 2D texture but was created using a blend of both drawn and 3D animation techniques. It’s a constant movement forward, a diorama that never ends, a road unrelenting. The texture of the piece is firmly rooted in chalky, hand-drawn animation and the themes directly correlate to the music, while cavemen stomp their feet in time to the clapping, cars later zoom overhead to techno beats. Full of neon and simple shapes, the piece is modern and current, feeling immediate, urgent, hopeful, and electrifying.

Directed by artist and animator Virginie Kypriotis, Esperanza reflects some of her previous work with environmental themes. The music video was produced by Code, a label of visual artists and creative talents born out of Mathematic VFX studio, who helped with post-production on the music video.
