When it comes to storytelling, director Alexander Payne and actor Paul Giammiatti sit pretty high in the 'safe pair of hands' list.

Reuniting the pair after the award-winning The Holdovers, Montefiore-Einstein and agency Alto New York's latest work tells the comeback story of Paul Rivera; a man who faced death, got a lung transplant, and came back stronger.

Titled Everyone Loves a Comeback, the film is structured around Giammiatti's engaging retelling, with RadicalMedia director Payne creating vivid reconstructions that span from nostalgia-tinted recollections to powerful contemporary imagery.

“So often, medical stories over-rely on facts and statistics, rather than telling the human story behind doctor and patient,” said Hannes Ciatti, Founder and Chief Creative Officer at Alto. “In New York, stories about local heroes are passed on to become legends. Paul Rivera and Montefiore Einstein’s story is worthy of that treatment and from the best storytellers.
