Alexa, break the fourth wall

The fidelity of TV and audio experiences nowadays can make cinematic entertainment and intricate musical experiences all-encompassing, but sometimes homelife can get in the way.

In these two funny spots for Amazon's Alexa devices, from Droga5, dramatic scenes of high fantasy and operatic warblings are interpreted by laid-back viewers/listeners controlling the action.

Spectacularly realised by Biscuit Filmworks' Andreas Nilsson, the real comedy comes from the excellent cast members, who do a brilliant job of expressing frustration, confusion and haplessness.

“Casting was such a big part of what made these films such a joy to shoot," says David Kolbusz, Chief Creative Officer at Droga5 London. "The way we use Alexa is so idiosyncratic and reflective of our own voices so we needed great talent to bring these insights to life. Our actors did an amazing job.”
