In the standard movie-making creation process, it's rare to have a poster created before a single shot has been filmed.
However, for this new short for Adobe from agency Pereira O’Dell, that was exactly the scenario - the results of a nationwide competition for college students to create a movie poster being brought to life by RSA director Zach Braff [Scrubs, Garden State]. Selected out of more than 1,1000 submissions, Boston University student Sam West's In The Time It Takes To Get There's intriguing design was enough to get it picked-up for production.
The result is a comedic period-set play on today's influencer culture, drawing in a star-studded cast including Alicia Silverstone and Florence Pugh (plus a cheeky cameo from Andy King, star of Netflix’s FYRE documentary).
