Produced by UNIT9, with gorgeous cinematography by David Procter, Cactus is a mesmerising study of devotion – both religious and romantic.
Dialogue free, it’s beautifully acted, with the range of emotions orchestrated by a moving score from Blessed are the Hearts That Bend.
Unfolding over one day, the film explores a multitude of lives across the capital, revealing hidden moments of introspection and expression that subtly move from apparent melancholy to a kind of joy.
The directors, Luke Seomore and Joseph Bull, describe it "as a celebration of daily life in all its messy humanity".
Blessed are the Hearts that Bend is Seomore’s solo project, which evolved from live scores played in haunting locations. He released his debut album, Is My Destroyer, through Berlin label Vaagner in 2020.
