A lush lens on Hotel du Couvent
More than just a standard hotel film, this beautifully shot campaign for Valéry Grego’s Perseus Properties turns a sensual eye on a stay at a 17th-century converted nunnery in old Nice.

Perseus founder Valéry Grego and Festen Architecture tasked the directorial duo Venkay (part of NM Talent) and production companies Bang Bang, to create something unexpected that captured the joy and liveliness of the Hotel du Couvent.
The result is a gorgeous, uber French film that's full of subtle surprises in its depiction of experiences to be had at this historic and luxurious gem.
Along with the usual refreshing pool dives and convivial meals there are a host of pleasingly artful scenes – a woman drops oranges that bounce down a perfectly framed stairwell, a man transports a giant bunch of sunflowers along a sun-drenched street (shout out to colourist Johanna Dalmede), children pop plump raspberries on their fingertips and a moist madeleine references Proustian reveries – reminding us that holidays are where we go to make happy memories.
