A little light relief

Humans have long had a fascination with light and can often be found gawping at sunsets and sunrises; at light bouncing off the moon, dappling through trees or travelling for years through galaxies, from dying stars to retinas. 

In this surreal, hypnotic video for My Prayer, directed by Filmawi Efrem and produced by COMPULSORY, the British multi-instrumentalist and producer Mansur Brown wanders the city at night gazing at glowing streetlights, fireflies in jars and a magical blob of radiance that seems to have folk tripping the light fantastic.

Startling images of the natural world extend the journey: light refracts off snow and penetrates oceans to make jellyfish shine, while lightening cracks down on mountain ranges. It’s a pleasant meditation on luminosity.
