Following on from The Wait, this touching spot, Lonesome Traveller, was once again created by Tarek Nour Advertising and helmed by El Zayat through Kay Oh Productions

It follows a twelve-year-old child who has to make a long, stressful journey to undergo heart surgery a thousand kilometres away from home.

Accompanied by his anxious parents, he leaves behind loving friends who bid him goodbye with a modern rendition of the Egyptian classic, Ya Messafer Wahdak, (which translates as Lonesome Traveller) by composer Mohamed Abdel Wahab.

The beautifully shot film showcases the director's skill in emotional storytelling that is tender but never overly wrought. He draws beautiful performances from the cast, leading up to a call out to fund the building of a cardiac hospital in Cairo.
