Phew, it's hot out there! Rail lines are buckling, roads are melting and dogs are in danger of burning their tender little paws on the pavements.
But as Europe swelters in a heatwave, spare a thought for the folk of Kuwait, where the mercury regularly tips a scorching 50C (that's 122F), making it officially one of the hottest places on earth.
Thankfully for Burger King lovers, however, the burger chain has turned the blistering temperatures to its advantage. Forget frying an egg on a car bonnet - that's old hat.
Instead, the boffins at Memac Ogilvy Kuwait have come up with a solar-powered gadget which harnesses the sun's power to flame-grill burgers to perfection. Using reflective mirror panels, the device amps up the heat of the sun's rays to 280C: the perfect temperature for searing Burger King's patties.
Smells like scam? Well, turns out this wasn't just a one-off stunt for the campaign video - throughout the month of July, customers could pick up the Sun Flame-Grilled Whopper sandwiches at selected flagship Burger King restaurants across Kuwait.
Sadly, with temperatures set to drop as the rains arrive in the UK this weekend, it looks like English Whopper aficionados will just have to stick to regular flame-grilled burgers. Or get creative with the tinfoil...
