China might not have qualified for the World Cup this year, but Nike is encouraging the next generation of Chinese football players to dream big with this bombastic spot, which imagines a future where China dominates the footballing world.
Created by Wieden+Kennedy Shanghai the film, set in 2033, sees Manchester City filling their roster with Chinese players and the English nation reaching for the tissues after being drawn in a group with China. Fans get the faces of Chinese football stars laser-printed on their acrylic nails, and Shanghai SIPG is the team every young gamer wants to play on the Xbox.
The spot was helmed by Ian Pons Jewell via Hamlet.
