This new film from BMB created for Pride in London outlines the gains made by the LGBT+ community but warns against complacency – there’s still much to be done to battle discrimination.

Directed by Academy’s rising star Billy Boyd Cape, the beautifully shot film traces the stories of individuals facing persecution – a transgender woman is heckled on the street, a gay man recalls being beaten up, a teen tearfully comes out to a rejecting parent. But, as the song builds to a message of hope, their pain turns to a sense of defiance and freedom as they move from persecution to being ‘out and proud’. The closing tagline is a reminder of Pride’s true purpose: ‘We’ve come a long way, but there’s still a way to go’.

Supported by print and online ads, a two-minute version of the film will also be on Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and Instagram, with three 20-second versions, running for a month on All 4. Plus, on the day of the Pride march, the campaign takes over the giant screen at Piccadilly Circus.
