We've all tried to quit social media at some point or another, but as this brilliantly barbed short by Matthew Frost shows, it's easier said than done.
Sparked by the ridiculous spectacle of a little boy playing photographer/director to his selfie-obsessed mother, the film's protagonist, a young nurse, resolves to get off Facebook, Instagram and the like for good. Later that evening, after flicking through the cliched influencers on her feed - the tattoo-covered self-obsessed musician, the uber-cool French girl, the Kardashian-arsed fitness fanatic (aka 'Butt Girl') - she deletes her social accounts (not without some hassle) and drifts off to the sweet sleep of the digitally disconnected.
The next morning, however, she wakes up to find, horrifyingly, that those same influencers have stepped off the phone screen and into her flat (and her bed) in an attempt to persuade her back to social media. Can she resist the Faustian pact they're offering?
