Blinkink and Parabella have once again teamed up with Belgian agency mortierbrigade to create a slice of handcrafted seasonal joy for the Belgian National Lottery.

A sequel to 2015's Christmas offering [below], the stop-motion spot combines a slew of cute woodland characters and intricately-assembled sets to tell the heartwarming story of a snowman hoping for a Yuletide miracle.

The film was directed by Parabella - the duo behind the 'bake-mation' brilliance of the Great British Bake Off trailer - alongside Blinkink's team of animators, led by Andy Biddle and Dan Gill, who spent a total of 50 days putting together the story, frame by frame in stop motion. Marvel at the painstaking process in a behind-the-scenes video, below.

“We loved returning to the world and characters from our 2015 Belgian Lottery film," said Parabella's Mikey and Dan. "It was important for us that we kept the same design and the playful attitude of the tinkering woodland animals, but we also wanted to make the world bigger, introduce some new characters, in the form of the family through the window. Our first glimpse into the world of humans.”

The film will air on Belgian national television and in cinemas from today.
