Do you know your austur from your vestur? No, us neither. But a new campaign for Inspired by Iceland is aiming to change that, by encouraging tourists to the far-flung Nordic region to have a go at its fiendishly difficult dialect via 'The Hardest Karaoke Song in the World'.
Created by Reykjavik agency Islenska and The Brooklyn Brothers, The A-Ö of Iceland (The A-Z of Iceland) pokes fun at some common stereotypes and perceptions about the country - from hot springs bathing etiquette (don't forget your sundskyla) to the myth of the mysterious Huldufólk, or Iceland elves (spoiler alert: they don't exist) - with a daft but catchy sing-along video.
We can't guarantee you'll be any the wiser about pronouncing the words, but you'll be humming the infectious ditty for days. Check out the brave souls who've already given it a go in the video below.
