Girls from across the world race to be the first female president of the UN, the first person on Mars and more in an International Women's Day spot by mcgarrybowen for Western Union.
The 60-second spot, called The Race is On and directed by MJ Delaney at Moxie Pictures, sees girls of various ethnicities in various countries running. As well as literally running, the voiceover details their metaphorical race to be the first feamle to do a number of high-profile roles like first female US president and first woman on the Moon and Mars.
The ad is part of Western Union's Education for Better scheme, that encourages users to move their money into education schemes for girls across the globe, with the brand estimating at least 50,000 girls to have benefited from the project by 2020.
Alongside the launch of the ad, which will be released on digital, social and video on demand platforms, WU have also announced the WU Scholars Program, which will support students via scholarships to enter into science, technology, engineering and maths subjects as well as business and entrepreneurship schemes.
This is the second ad the money moving brand has produced for International Women's Day. The first, released last year, can be seen below and details a women's struggles in trying to become on of South Africa's first female commercial pilots.
