Swedish Red Cross: PSA

Harrowing campaign for Swedish Red Cross, helmed by Folke Film director Marcus Söderlund, conveys experiences of victims of war and disaster.

This year’s Christmas fundraising campaign from the Swedish Red Cross uses powerful first-person perspective to convey ordeals experienced by people in crisis all over the world. The dramatisations are based on actual events and the realistic soundscape, coupled with documentary-style directing from Söderlund and DP Thimios Bakatakis amount to disturbing film.

From a first person point of view the film captures the terror of drowning, of being trapped under rubble following an earthquake and suffering an injury from a bomb attack, but from our victims' point of view we see they have not been left alone to suffer, their rescuers appear in the form of Red Cross volunteers.
