It's time to dig out your Now That's What I Call Christmas album, order the turkey and start the countdown because as far as the UK is concerned, the official Christmas bell has been rung with the release of this year's John Lewis spot.
Called Buster the Boxer, John Lewis's 2016 offering has an amalgam of previous years' ingredients with animals, children, confused parents and, of course, a beautifully arranged and emotional soundtrack, all put together perfectly by adam&eveDDB, who are experts in the Christmas field.
Directed by Blink's Dougal Wilson, a John Lewis veteran, with VFX by MPC London, the spot features a host of urban creatures who take advantage of a Christmas Eve-assembled trampoline to the consternation of Buster the dog who has to wait till Christmas morning to get his fix of bounce.
