When you think of the world's top surfing locations, names like Australia's Gold Coast, Hawaii's Oahu, Indonesia's Mentawai Islands and South Africa’s Jeffrey's Bay might spring to mind. But not for Larry Cavero.
Cavero was born in Lima, Peru and started surfing from the age of seven. He moved to Canada in the early 90’s and was convinced he'd have to give up the sport. 15 years later and Cavero, along with a group of die-hard surfers, have now become some of the top lake surfers, taking advantage of the ice cold waters of Canada's Great Lakes, which make up the largest lake group on the planet.
Directed by Jake Kovnat through Skin & Bones, this heart-warming documentary short follows Cavero and his friend/fellow surfer Antonio Lennert, as they chase the waves in the snow-covered lakes.
