Established cinematographer Stuart Harris has been named as the new professor for the Directing Commercials Diploma at the National Film and Television School.

Famed for his cinematography on award-winning video feature film Wetherby and Pink Floyd music videos, he has also worked in commercials and created TVCs for the likes of Levis, Head and Shoulders and Ford among others.

“It is a privilege to run the new Directing Commercials Diploma at the NFTS,” says Harris. “This new course is an amazing opportunity for budding directors of commercials as the course will include masterclasses and work experience with the great and good of the advertising industry.”

The part-time diploma – which will be delivered in partnership with the D&AD – will provide students with the relevant skills and knowledge to be proficient commercials directors. The D&AD will offer on-hand advice to students and provide mentorship for budding directors through its industry contacts.
