In a TV ad from TBWAParis inspired by Alfonso Cuarón’s Gravity, an astronaut literally finds himself at the end of his tether and about to give up on life when he’s persuaded to gamely carry on by the thought of a triple cheeseburger.

Directed by Ben Gregor through, appropriately, Moonwalk Films, the spot joins two astronauts mid-catastrophe – Jim is floating in dark space, at the end of a lifeline with zero oxygen left, as his mate in the spaceship is attempting to coax him to try hauling himself back to base. “Hang on Jim! Think about your family, think about little Tommy,” he cries. But Jim is fading: “C’est fini…” he mutters, about to let himself drift off to an early intergalactic grave.

However, when he’s reminded that if he lives he'll be able to enjoy a McDonald’s triple cheeseburger, he finds an extra spurt of courage and gamely starts hauling himself back while his chum shouts burger-themed words of encouragement, such as “three fat patties”, “cheese slices” and “ketcherrp!”

We're lovin' it...
