Global youth media company VICE has acquired a majority stake in Pulse Films.

The studio will continue to operate as an independent brand and will keep creating content across different mediums, including feature film and branded entertainment.

The two companies first worked together in 2012 – leading to a US partnership in 2013. Pulse CEO/co-founder Thomas Benski is excited for the production company to develop further through the partnership. VICE is looking forward to tapping into Pulse’s talent network and expanding its offering of original video content across digital and mobile devices.

Pulse recently bolstered its team with president Patrick Vien, managing director of TV, Roy Ackerman, and creative director Emma Cooper.
