Attention all up-and-coming creatives. Are you a budding chef, filmmaker, photographer or musician looking for your first big break into the industry? If so, Samsung is offering the chance of a lifetime to kick-start your career as part of its Launching People campaign, planned for Sky 1 this spring.

Launching People, a campaign masterminded by Cheil UK for the communications brand is about helping talented individuals achieve their dreams through the best technology and the right support. To this end, Samsung has teamed up with industry leaders in food, film, photography and music to offer a lucky handful of winners the opportunity to bring their ideas to life with help from the pros. What is more, the creative collaborations are set to form the basis of a new television series for Sky 1.

The celebrities involved include Sunday Times cook Gizzi Erskine, award-winning actor and producer Idris Elba, singer-songwriter Paloma Faith and portrait and fashion photographer Rankin. The mentors represent some of the UK’s hottest talent in their respective fields, and they’ll be working to help launch the participants’ promising ideas.

The mentors together with Samsung will be looking to find people with extraordinary potential and originality. The chosen candidates will work with one of the four inspirational mentors to collaborate on a unique project. Their journey, from meeting the mentors to the launch of their project, will be covered through a television series, Launching People, produced by Fresh One, part of the Jamie Oliver Media Group, for Sky 1 HD and will air this spring.

Aside from the panelists’ chosen protégé’s, a public vote will also select one entry from each category in The People’s Choice, who will each receive £2,000 of Samsung technology to help them bring their ambitions to life.

Avikar Jolly, head of campaign and brand, Samsung UK, comments: “Everyone knows Samsung for launching products and every day we’re inspired by people who use those products to achieve amazing things.”

He continues: “Launching People is all about doing just that – launching people’s potential through technology, whatever their stage in life. We hope to give people with passion, ambition and a hungry mind a launch pad for their bright ideas and change their lives in a positive way.”

So, if you’ve got a great idea and think you have what it takes to impress the talented panel of mentors, pitch your project here between now and Thursday 6 March 2014.

Gizzi, Idris, Faith and Rankin will each choose one person to work with one-on-one throughout the process, helping to bring their ideas to life and launch their projects.
