For fans of Activision’s Call of Duty series, Modern Warfare's iconic Task Force 141 are the FPS equivalent of The Beatles, The Magnificent Seven and The Mighty Ducks rolled into one.
Promoting the upcoming Modern Warfare II, 72andSunny, MJZ and Craig Gillespie have created an atmospheric one-take promotional film that sees the aforementioned super-soldiers prepping themselves for some gunslinging action in the back of a bumpy truck. Evocative sound design is by James Cobbold at Machine, London.
Accompanying the hero film is a series of lighthearted celeb collabs, featuring actor Pete Davidson, NBA player Trae Young, DJ Steve Aoki and streamer TimTheTatman, all failing to take the pre-battle preparation as seriously as the Task Force...
“Call of Duty is as massive as any premier movie franchise out there," notes Zach Hilder, Executive Creative Director at 72andSunny, "so it's only right we gave what is sure to be their biggest game yet, a cinema-style trailer fit for a summer blockbuster."
“Teamwork is at the core of the Call of Duty experience," adds Tyler Bahl, Vice President and Head of Marketing at Activision, "so what better way to tease the reveal of Modern Warfare II than to bring to life our ultimate team: Task Force 141.
"We hope all our players, new and old, will enjoy this epic and fun campaign.”
