Expedia Celebrate Love with Untranslatable Words
Expedia have created a branded content series of illustrations of untranslatable words for Valentine's Day.
Have you experienced ‘forelsket’ this Valentine’s Day, or are you stuck in a state of ‘mamihlapinatapei’? You are able to find out on a new branded content page from Expedia.
For Language of Love, which you can see for yourself at language-of-love.expedia.co.uk, the travel brand have commissioned illustrator Jazmin Batisti to bring to life some romantically-themed untranslatable words from around the world in some season appropriate red, white, and blacks.
I don’t know about you, but we here at shots are nearly constantly in a state of ‘mamihlapinatapei’:
Other illustrations created for Expedia describe such sensations as ‘the act of fake-sulking after getting into a trivial argument with your loved one’ (Tamil word ‘oodal’) or, especially appropriate for today, the ‘feeling that you’ve been struck by Cupid’s arrow’ (the Spanish ‘flechazo’).
