The Chase

Composer Ivan Arnold drives Rok Predin’s latest project for Trunk Animation. Long-term collaborators Predin and Arnold have worked on a number of great shorts including Winter Poem and usually Predin has been the driving force on these projects bringing in Arnold to compose to his finished work.

But for their latest short The Chase the initial concept came from Arnold who wanted to work on a score that had a “dynamic travelling rhythm”. Arnold turned to Predin to work on this concept and the resulting short is a beautiful and determined chase sequence in which a rather cute toy-like car gradually starts to disintegrate while it is being pursued by huge cat demons that look as though they have escaped from a nightmare Alice in Wonderland. Strange? Yes. Beautiful? Definitely.
