In collaboration with Flow Creative, the World Mosquito Program has launched this affecting and informative animation bringing global attention to the innovative Wolbachia method.
Titled Releasing Hope, the film, directed by Karl Doran, tells a moving story from the perspective of a young girl, who, seeing the devastating impact that mosquito borne diseases are having in her life and community, decides to fight back.
The story is told without any words, relying instead on handcrafted visuals, a bespoke musical score, and an emotive story that resonates across cultures and languages.
“Our goal was to create a film with drama, action and emotional impact, whilst staying true to the science and reality of how these diseases affect people's lives. We hope the film will help to inspire audiences, bring global attention to the amazing work the WMP is doing and the enormous potential impact that Wolbachia could have on the world”, said the Doran, Creative Director at Flow.
