Back in April 2019, when Mark Molloy release his first Underdogs film for Apple, we ended our write-up with "Now where's the sequel?".
Well, we're not saying that the core of Apple's marketing dept was reading, but now we're in 2022 and on to the third film in the series, after 2020's mood-nailing The Whole Working-From-Home Thing; this time with our enterprising team branching out on their own to bag [geddit] some new clients.
With Escape From the Office, SMUGGLER director Molloy might have moved on from the interiors of the previous two iterations, but the staples are still there: the impossibly likable foursome, smart ways to showcase Apple's products and services (with a double-dose of Ted Lasso for good measure), and a plot that speaks to the times.
Though the titular Underdogs may not be so 'under' by the film's implied climax, we can't help but wish for more tech-savvy, truth-sharing fun from the gang in the future.
