This reflective short film, directed by Dionne Edwards through Bullion Productions, for WePresent, WeTransfer's award-winning digital arts and editorial platform, is a moving reflection on filmmaker, artist, gardener and gay rights activist Derek Jarman’s life and work.
Edwards splices together vignettes of the artist’s work with conversations shared between actor Russell Tovey and director Neil Bartlett, as they visit a centuries-old patisserie in Soho, London, where Jarman used to work.
Sitting at the same table the artist would often frequent, the pair discuss their interpretations of his work, with a focus on his final and seminal film, Blue, exploring the transformative journey and mental imagery the film evokes for them.
