Taking notes from meme culture, social influencers, and game show hosts, a young man demonstrates how he stays entertained while in isolation.
Full of fun winks, I Am Endless starts with a young man in his living room, teaching us fitness techniques from his phone. His friends join in, each using what they have on hand for weights. He goes from tossing toilet paper into the crowd, to a romantic dinner date, to a radio DJ hosting a party for his friends. The transitions are playful, the scenes enhanced by multiple phone screens popping up along the sides and over the main character’s show.
It looks like it would take a whole crew a full day to pull off some of the scenes, but as shown in the behind-the-scenes video, the actor received sketches, props, and direction via video call. Both Ogilvy and The Mill worked from Zoom screens to keep isolation practices in place. It’s pretty impressive that director Jocelyn Anquetil managed to create an ad like this in just about two weeks, all the while working under the pressures of the new normal.
