Canarian-Italian director Valentino R. Sandoli has directed this seductive and artistic fashion film through Luma Film, for young queer designer Aitor Goikoetxea's latest collection, Adarrak.
A young man gazes at his reflection in a handheld mirror, a red mask lying on the sheets in front of him. He rises from the bed to embark on a journey through the house, encountering in each new room an array of opulently dressed characters engaged in symbolic and suggestive rites and rituals.
A heady, entrancing soundtrack is integral to the film's story, intensifying as the protagonist enters a final room full of dancing figures adorned with animalistic masks and extravagant floral headpieces, where he walks into the crowd to come face-to-face with himself.
