No stranger to composing for the screen, Ludwig Göransson is transported through the process of creating a theme, in a galaxy far, far away.

The piece was shot on the Volume Stage using live capture. Using the same tech created by LucasArts and Industrial Light & Magic for their movies, and specifically, The Mandalorian, director Isaac Ravishankara captures Göransson’s meticulous, thorough process. Part music video, part documentary, the film shows off the film and composing studio and is fully immersive. The final product is dramatic and intense, a sweeping recreation of the series in miniature.

Ravishankara, a lifelong Star Wars fan, mentions that “the theme gives expression to the masked main character. It is an evocative conjuring of a lone man’s journey. A show about a lone character, created by a solo musician, a galactic one-man-band echoing the show’s themes.”
