We start out at the Hill of the Buddha in Sapporo, and as soon as the taiko drummers set the pace, the camera quickly turns towards a jazz night, then a ski slope, a restaurant, and many others.
A slice-of-life view of the tourist attractions and heritage monuments that dot the Japanese landscape, this exceptionally rhythmic promo shows off Japan without being obvious. In The Sound of Japan, see a country that is defined by both the modern and the traditional, full of land that is expansive and beautiful. The illuminations of the space are given neon lighting and natural vistas, alternating easily in between the urban and pastoral.
Set firmly in the theme of “Winter,” this ad, produced and directed by Giacomo Calistri and Laura Innocenti through Spandy Films (the boutique brand of NEEDaFIXER), uses slow-motion and hyperlapse footage to create an immersive and stream-of-consciousness film. The sound was mixed by Mikes Billis and designed by Bounce Music & Sound.
