The fizzy drink brand returns to its mischievous heritage in this fun campaign created by VCCP, and directed by Ben Tonge through Girl&Bear.
The 30-second film, titled Warden, taps into and reinvigorates the brand’s historically bold adverts of the 90s to appeal to a Gen-Z audience, while retaining its classic British humour roots.
In the spot, a prison warden enters a cell and confiscates some ‘contraband’ - a can of tango - from an inmate. When no one is looking, the warden dips his finger into the can to taste the drink. A crazed look comes across his face, before he starts dancing up and down the hall - to no music - while alarms blare and prisoners look on in hysterical confusion.
