Sweet Rickey appoints Phoebe Dubay as Managing Director
Sweet Rickey enters a new era with industry leader Phoebe Dubay, as national growth accelerates.
Production company Sweet Rickey has appointed Phoebe Dubay as its new Managing Director, bringing decades of industry experience to a shop known for pairing big creative ambition with flawless execution.
Dubay, who has worked on brands such as Progressive Insurance, Google, McDonalds, Kia, Bank of America, Puma and DraftKings, arrives with a reputation for uncompromising standards, meticulous attention to detail, and a belief that great work and great fun aren't mutually exclusive.
Prior to leading an award-winning post house as Executive Producer for the past ten years, Dubay started her career on the agency side, experience that gave her a firsthand, ground-level understanding of what clients truly need from a production partner: artistry put ahead of the bottom line, expertise, honesty, and flexibility, and a genuine commitment to making sure both agency and brand come out shining. That perspective has shaped the way she works: with an instinct for anticipating client needs before they're voiced, and an unrelenting commitment to delivering work that exceeds expectations.
"The way this team operates, always prioritising creative, endlessly positive, never settling or cutting corners, is something I've admired for years and it's exactly why I wanted to be part of the next chapter." said Dubay. "What drew me in wasn't just the caliber of the work, it's the way this team pulls off the impossible without ever losing sight of integrity or fun. Those are the same standards I've held myself to my entire career, and I couldn’t be more excited to see our shared strengths and synergy create even more value for our clients.”
"Phoebe is exactly the kind of leader who makes everyone around her better," said Vanessa Lonborg, owner of Sweet Rickey. "She has spent decades leading with excellence and care that few can match."
"Sweet Rickey was built on client-first instincts from day one with Vanessa," said Jessica Curreri, Director of Creative Partnerships at Sweet Rickey. "So having Phoebe's agency background and that shared ethos at the leadership table is a perfect pairing, and it makes us stronger."
As Managing Director, Dubay will help spearhead strategic growth as well as streamline internal operations to sharpen creative quality and efficiency across the board - raising the bar on every project that carries the Sweet Rickey name.
Dubay's arrival comes at a pivotal moment for Sweet Rickey. Vanessa fully acquired the business earlier this year, and the WBENC-certified shop moved into a new space in the heart of Boston, complete with a roof deck and water views. It was designed as a creative haven for the film and advertising community. In an industry increasingly shaped by remote work and digital isolation, the new space was built with intention: to bring the creative community together in person and restore a sense of joy to real, human collaboration, in a spot filled with light. It's a fitting metaphor for the company's next chapter, and one Phoebe is now helping lead. While the studio's home base sits in Boston, its productions run worldwide, serving a global client base of agencies, leading brands and organisations.
