SourceEcreative Presents Takes Shanghai

If you were anywhere near the South Bund of Shanghai last Wednesday, you might have heard a few roars of approval from the packed crowd in the Sigma Film Club – the location of our latest SourceEcreative Presents screening night. Described by a few attendees as "the biggest gathering of the Shanghai production industry they have ever witnessed", the evening saw over 175 industry professionals gather together to mingle, network and check out some cracking short-form content.

Hosted by SourceEcreative's APAC Sales Director Lee Michael (with able support from MD James Straker), the lucky guests were treated to a multitude of visual delights, curated by Editor Jamie Madge and the Scout team. Collecting together work from signed and unsigned directors, the showcase included Christopher Frey's extraordinary short 'Explosions', Virgilio Villoresi's optical treat 'Submarine Test January 1967' and the unbridled mastery of Bot & Dolly's projection mapping experiment ' Box'.

Manfully aiding SourceEcreative with hosting the event was SHP, top notch Filmmakers' Rep Agency from the region. "It was a great event, and an amazing chance to see new work and catch up with lots of people" noted SHP founder Maria Laletina. "We were thrilled with the huge turnout, especially of the busy producers who took the time out of their schedules to come down and enjoy the show!"

The evening was bookended with drinks and nibbles, backdropped by the stunning skyline of the Huangpu River. If you'd like to know what the fuss was about, SourceEcreative members (and those with a demo access from the screening) can check out the full list of films here. You can also check out a selection of images from the night below, or see the full album of photos on our Facebook page.
