Skream and Trim take a trip

A promise of two pints then home turns into an all-night magic mushroom bender in this anarchic promo, helmed by Iain Simpson for London-based music producer Skream’s track, Funky Sailor, featuring Grime MC Trim. 

The almost six-minute-long film follows a man and his friends on a night out in London, which starts as just a couple of drinks at the pub and quickly devolves into a disorientating psychedelic binge. 

Simpson splices together the protagonist’s chaotic night out with monochrome footage of Trim performing, weaving a compelling narrative that perfectly encapsulates the manic energy of the track, with its oboe riff reminiscent of the early grime era.
