His most recent campaign, "Life's Grand Tour" for the new Maserati Quattroporte was shot over seven days on location in Italy and premiered at the 2013 Detroit Motor Show. The campaign showcases Maserati's motoring heritage, Italian glamour and racing performance.
"Nigel's reel is special to us because he has incredibly stunning car imagery, and also has the real life, action-packed, story-driven car films from Top Gear." Said Carl Swan, Partner, Community Films. "We knew instantly that he was a perfect fit for Community and a compliment to our other directors."
For the past ten years, his name has become synonymous with the Emmy-award winning "Top Gear." In 2002 Simpkiss was hired to revamp the long-running show, which now attracts 500 million viewers in 80 countries worldwide. In addition to the EMMY win, his work on "Top Gear" has been honored with numerous Royal Television Society Awards, a BANFF and has received a number of BAFTA nominations.
Simpkiss is also known for shooting stunning landscapes, from the Arctic to the Andes; the jungles of Borneo to the volcanoes of Iceland. An expert in shooting film, he also specializes in digital capture, using digital stills and HD in his work.
