Simon Ratigan directs eerie video for Jont Openheart.
Lazarus' style music set in the streets of London.
“As a creative person you may open your computer to find someone else’s work with ideas uncannily close to your own, it seems that somethings are ‘in the ether’……..
This has just happened with an extraordinary twist to HLA’s Simon Ratigan who directs his first music video for his good friend Jont Openheart. You might know of Jont from hearing his songs on Grey’s Anatomy or from one of his previous eight albums, or as the man who created UNLIT, a travelling house party gig that became an internet phenonomen in 2008 with the Orange Unlit Tour of the UK. Since 2012 he has been living in Halifax, Nova Scotia and his new album ‘An Old Innocence’ was recorded in Montreal’s legendary Hotel 2 Tango recording studio with Howard Bilerman, the man behind Arcade Fire’s debut smash ‘Funeral’. The music video for ’Superstar’ was shot last November before the sad and untimely death of David Bowie. The video involves Jont walking through the night streets of London with his eyes bandaged, 'Lazarus' style.
