One day you're an icon, the next day they stop calling," laments a former screen siren in DDB Barcelona's clever ad depicting characters who've gone out of fashion in movieland.
Nicely conflating Audi's product message with its sponsorship of the San Sebastian Film Festival, the film Silence Is Once Again the Protagonist was directed by Hugo Menduina and produced by Garage. The witty script sees all the characters share their stories at support group for the forgotten – an animated chap has been told he’s too flat for film now, a Roman centurion complains it’s barbaric, a mummy tries to mumble through its bandages.
The support group leader turns to a monochrome silent movie star and says, “you’re a bit quiet, don’t you have anything to say?", whereupon she dispatches the news, in subtitles, that she’s leaving the group – silence is back in vogue, which leads nicely to the celebration of the Audi e-tron’s 100 percent electric, silent traction.
