Shilo to Open in L.A., Names Jennifer Siegel West Coast EP

Shilo has announced that veteran commercial production industry Executive Producer Jennifer Siegel has joined the company as EP for its West Coast operations. Simultaneously, Shilo's principals, including partners Jose Gomez and Tracy Chandler, have also announced plans to expand Shilo's West Coast operations into Los Angeles in the coming months.
Siegel began her career in the commercial production industry soon after graduating from the University of Michigan. Starting out as the receptionist for Crossroads Films in New York, she was named Executive Producer there five years later. She next joined Tool of North America in Santa Monica as Head of Production in 1997, and was named Executive Producer in 2000. Over the past decade she’s played an integral role in Tool’s growth, helping it successfully transition into the digital media space. She was elected to the West Coast board of the AICP earlier this year.
"I consider myself very fortunate that I had a lot of career opportunities to choose from, and as soon as I met Shilo's partners, joining them became the obvious choice," Siegel says. "The level of the company's creative work really appeals to me, and I feel very strongly that Jose Gomez, Andre Stringer, Noah Conopask and Evan Dennis all merit attention as go-to, A-list directors. I also feel that having the ability to do everything -- live-action production, editorial, design and VFX -- under one roof is the wave of the future.”
"By the time Tracy, Andre and I officially launched Shilo, we already had a long track record in the hip-hop and skateboarding worlds, and to a large extent, those worlds were centered in New York and San Diego," Gomez says about the company’s current West Coast base in La Jolla. "As things have progressed, and we’ve focused-in more on directing, being closer to the creative industry has also become very important to us. So we're very excited about this next phase of our evolution, where we'll have better opportunities to build more viable working connections with the industry's major players. We feel that Jennifer is the perfect partner to help us reach those goals."
"With all things considered, Jennifer truly is the perfect fit for us," Chandlers adds. "Over the years, her experiences working for a director-owned company put her on the front lines with major agencies and directors. She’s also managed all aspects of the business operations for one of the world's top production companies.”
